Start Early

At the start of 2023, Ashon began his role with Start Early as the Executive Director, Illinois. Previously Ashon served as the Director of Strategy, Policy, Planning and Innovation at the City of Columbus, Mayor’s Office, CelebrateOne, where he provided oversight to their various programs including their policy and advocacy efforts and led overall strategic growth. Prior to that role, Ashon was a Policy Director with Children’s Defense Fund Ohio, where he developed relationships with funders, spearheaded creation of state and federal legislation, and acted as a spokesperson regarding their advocacy initiatives. Ashon is a compelling speaker with a magnetic presence who has demonstrated a personal passion and commitment to equity, education, infant and maternal health, and so much more.
