Sarah Marino

Sarah Marino brings to each engagement a tailored approach and an appreciation for the uniqueness of every cause and community. She is committed to helping organizations embed a culture of philanthropy. She helps her clients find the balance between the art and science of fundraising and informs planning with best practice and creative thinking. Sarah has deep experience in major gifts fundraising. She has published thought leadership and research on tech-employed philanthropists, women’s philanthropy, and building resilient organizations. As manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Access, Sarah also leads the firm’s DEIA Council.

Her 20 years of direct development experience give her the skills to support organizations in many sectors through a wide variety of challenges. In her work with clients, Sarah values the opportunity to:

• Build fundraising strategies that encourage donors to increase their giving and deepen their commitment
• Create effective partnerships between staff, board, volunteers, and donors
• Help organizations use their existing fundraising resources more effectively to improve return on investment

Prior to joining Campbell & Company, Sarah served as Vice President of Institutional Giving and Women’s Philanthropy at Opportunity International, where she managed multi-sector, high-value partnerships. She also served as Opportunity’s National Fundraising Director in Australia, where she sat on the leadership team, managed a national major gifts team, and worked strategically with the Board of Directors. Sarah has also worked in events and corporate fundraising roles in the Bay Area for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and TheatreWorks and in Chicago at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company.

Sarah holds an MBA from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Dance as well as a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University. Sarah serves as a board member of Women in Leadership and Philanthropy at the University of San Francisco.
