Whitney Buccicone joins the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) as the new Chief Operating Officer, bringing almost two decades of university library and nonprofit experience managing complex budgets, optimizing people and systems, and supporting inclusive, mission-driven cultures. She’s drawn to HMML to strengthen its ability to deliver its mission of preserving and sharing the world’s handwritten past to inspire a deeper understanding of our present and future.
Most recently, Whitney was the Executive Director for the National Wildlife Rehabilitators Association (NWRA), where she led strategic planning to support overall organizational change and growth, with increased investment in fundraising initiatives.
Previously, at the University of Virginia as Director of Discovery Services, Whitney managed a team of 11 where she enhanced organizational culture, integrated DEI values and continuous learning, improved service delivery and staff skills, and streamlined operations and increased efficiency.
