Stephanie joined Seattle Foundation May 2021 as its new Chief Engagement Officer. She will be the first person to serve in this broad leadership position aimed at expanding the Seattle Foundation’s role and impact in philanthropy, through a mix of collaborative investment partnerships, donor engagement, and powerful storytelling. As Chief Engagement Officer, McLemore Bray will lead and oversee the organization’s philanthropic fund development, donor engagement, business development, and marketing and communications functions and partner with SeaFdn’s hundreds of philanthropists, investors, and donors to drive positive change across the region. As the daughter of an African American civil rights attorney, racial and social justice is at the core of McLemore Bray’s identity, and is drawn to SeaFdn’s mission to be a civic leader and commitment to the Foundation’s racial and economic equity work. McLemore Bray joins SeaFdn after nearly seven years in Sacramento, California, as President and CEO of the United Way California Capital Region, where she built the organization’s visibility and trust and attracted increased investment, including a recent $10 million gift from Mackenzie Scott.
