Shannon Bowen

Shannon joined Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI) as their Chief Advancement Officer in August 2022, bringing her 16 years of development and communications experience as well as her passion for scientific research. Previously she was the Senior Director of Development for the Center for Environmental Health (CEH) where she oversaw a multi-million dollar fundraising strategy and managed a five-person team. She is skilled in both institutional and major gift fundraising and has a long track record of securing six-and-seven-figure gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and government entities. Previous to CEH, Shannon was the Vice President of Development for Making Waves Foundation, and before that, she was the Director of Development and Communications at Civicorps where she grew their fundraising from five to seven figures. Before Civicorps, Shannon operated her own development consultancy, was a grant writer for Planned Parenthood Northern California, and was the Director of Development for KIDS for the BAY. Shannon is thrilled to lead development and communications for PNRI.
