Susannah Young applies her creativity and knowledge of fundraising strategy to every client engagement. As a communications consultant, Susannah works in close collaboration with her clients to help them tell the story that is theirs alone—and to tell it in memorable, message-driven language that resonates with their donors. In each engagement, Susannah enjoys opportunities to:

  • Strike a balance between creativity and factual analysis to communicate findings or an institution’s needs
  • Apply her knowledge of the for-profit and non-profit sectors
  • Synthesize a wealth of information and articulate it in clear, concise, compelling language
  • Learn about a new organization and understand its institutional voice
  • Use creative tactics and clean design to help organizations express their mission and goals 

Susannah has worked as a copywriter and on the account side of the advertising world, as an event coordinator at Memphis’ Center for Southern Folklore, and as an Associate Producer for Chicago’s WYCC-Channel 20 television show MusiciansStudio. Susannah came to Campbell & Company from August Jackson, where she worked as a Senior Writer and Associate Creative Director. In this role, she served as a communications strategist, providing creative and art direction and writing and editing communications ranging from video scripts and speeches to web copy and proposals.

In addition to her professional activities, Susannah is a published music critic. Her writing has appeared in the book Vinyl Me, Please: 100 Albums You Need in Your Collection, as well as on Vinyl Me, Please’s editorial site, Pitchfork, and KCRW, among other publications. Susannah graduated cum laude with a B.A. in English from Rhodes College, and magna cum laude with a Master’s in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago.
