ABOUT SARA SHELTON
Having developed a passion for seniors early in life, Sara earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration/management and a master’s degree in gerontology in preparation for a career in aging services. She spent the first 6–7 years of her career managing and troubleshooting senior living communities. With the expertise she gained during those years, she later launched a consulting firm called Seattle Aging Solutions to support families of aging loved ones in identifying care options. In recent years, she has worked outside of aging services, supporting executives in various areas of business including banking, food production, and most recently at the Starbucks corporate office. While at Starbucks, she provided administrative support to vice presidents in human resources as well as the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer. Her experience with the latter inspired great interest in DEIA work, particularly ageism in the workplace. Outside of her professional life, she spends most of her time running, reading, and exploring the PNW outdoors as often as possible.
