Event: Shining a Spotlight on the Growth in Giving Initiative and the Human Services Sector
April 30 - May 2, 2017 at the AFP International Conference
How do human services organizations (HSOs) raise the funds they need to provide needed services in American communities? Because many of these organizations are small, with minimal fundraising staff, the sector itself has not had the resources to collect and analyze the data. In this session, we will use data from a unique database provided by the Growth in Giving Initiative, which was created by the Fundraising Effectiveness Project in 2012, to create preliminary analyses of trends in giving to HSOs. The results illustrate how fundraising has changed for HSOs in recent years, and suggests areas for further research.
