Resources to help you adapt during the COVID-19 outbreak

Offering support during the coronavirus outbreak

Campbell & Company has been closely following the coronavirus outbreak, and we are here to offer support to nonprofit organizations during this tumultuous time.

We know all nonprofit organizations are making adjustments to how they are working now. We know organizations are taking steps to ensure the wellbeing of all their stakeholders. And we know their funding needs are not going away.

Our team is in touch with our clients daily, helping them respond to rapidly changing conditions while keeping their missions intact—regardless of their sector, their size, and their location. This is a time that requires creative problem-solving, candor, and compassion. Here are some important tips to help you weather these challenges:

  • Focus on communication. Staying in touch with stakeholders is very important. Even though people are receiving new information every day, your stakeholders will want to know how COVID-19 is affecting your organization and what special steps you are taking to meet your mission. Make sure you are consistent in your overall messaging (focusing on people, we recommend) and are also nimble enough to adapt as events unfold.
  • Focus on relationships. Reach out to all donors and let them know how their support has allowed the organization to adjust its practices during this time. Work individually with all major donors who have questions and concerns.
  • Give your donors a way to help. If there are special steps your organization is taking to meet human needs, consider asking donors to join you by supporting the specific effort. We know donors give primarily to benefit people; if you are helping people in need, some donors may want to partner with you.
  • Remember that people continue to give during difficult times. Stay positive and stay in touch!

Below, we included resources that we've developed to help you adapt to the rapidly changing landscape. We'll be sharing more content in the coming days and weeks.
