About Sarah Anderson
Sarah Anderson develops and writes fundraising and marketing materials in the Chicago office of Campbell & Company. Having written for a wide range of nonprofits and for a variety of platforms, Sarah brings a proven ability to understand her clients’ unique visions, voices and audiences.

Through a collaborative, consensus-building process, she helps clients develop compelling, clear messaging that supports their missions and goals. “Case development can be an ideal way to foster investment from a range of stakeholders,” she feels. “By working with clients to tell the most compelling story possible, I help them build consensus regarding their vision and priorities among external and internal constituents.” She contributes to this process by:
  • Helping organizations see themselves through donors’ eyes and communicate about their work in new ways
  • Engaging Board members, staff and donors in case development discussions that energize them and remind them of their personal connections to an organization
  • Finding the stories behind the numbers to show an organization’s true impact
  • Working with volunteers and staff to produce collateral materials they are proud to share with donors
  • Brainstorming with volunteers and staff to find the perfect name and tagline for their campaign
Before joining Campbell & Company, Sarah edited news releases and counseled clients on public relations strategies at PR Newswire. Prior to moving to Chicago, Sarah wrote for The Associated Press in Columbus, Ohio, covering financial news around the state. She has also written for The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she was recognized for her entertainment and business reporting.

Sarah edited and contributed to The Patient Person, a collection of her family’s writing published in 2008. An avid singer and guitarist, she also has recorded an album of original music. Sarah graduated from the University of Florida’s honors college, where she studied journalism, political science and business administration. While at the university, she served as editor-in-chief of The Independent Florida Alligator, the nation’s largest student-run newspaper.

Testimonials

Pacific Lutheran University
“An effective consultant takes the time to learn the client’s needs, know the client’s people and understand the intricacies of an institution’s program, which Campbell & Company always does.  None of Campbell & Company’s solutions for PLU come from the textbook – they come from working through each individual situation with us.”
- Dr. Loren J. Anderson, President

"Some companies tried to wow us with their ability to crunch numbers. Other companies tried to wow us with the personality of their consultants. Campbell & Company wow’d us with their true commitment to our organization and to the promise of making our campaign a success."
-Mark Stuart, Chief Development and Membership Officer
