About Robert Alpaugh
Robert Alpaugh is passionate about philanthropy, and about the need for collaboration and planning as keys to success. Robert encourages clients to see a capital project as part of a larger vision: that of assuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. Sustainability requires proper capitalization of the project and building the reserves and endowment necessary for sustainable growth. This requires careful planning at the very inception of the idea to build or launch a campaign, and collaboration—between staff and volunteers, donors and leaders, and between consultant and organization—are key to laying this foundation for success. In each client relationship, Robert values opportunities to:

In his initial work with Campbell & Company, Robert served as interim Vice President for Development at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. He assisted the Symphony’s new president in coordinating efforts among marketing, fundraising and public relations staffs while managing day-to-day fundraising operations as the Symphony searched for its fulltime development leader.
Robert has worked in opera, theater, dance and music, serving as executive or managing director of institutions such as the Joffrey Ballet, Williamstown Theater Festival and Arizona Theater Company. While at Campbell & Company Robert has had the opportunity to successfully transfer his experience to the human services and higher education sectors.
