For over thirty years, Jon Carnahan has been a community college leader and educator, as well as an active community volunteer. As a consultant, he helps organizations achieve success through management consulting, strategic planning for fundraising campaigns, marketing, communications and executive searches.

For fourteen years, Mr. Carnahan served as president of Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon. During his tenure, he helped lead a campaign that raised nearly $30 million from public and private sources and was involved in over 40 general operating and budget elections. Both the campaign and the elections gave Mr. Carnahan strong insight into how community colleges can effectively secure support from a variety of sources. His service to Linn-Benton also strengthened his understanding of how community colleges and other nonprofits can overcome management, organizational development, budget and communication issues.

Before becoming Linn-Benton’s president, Mr. Carnahan served in various administrative positions at Linn-Benton and Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington.

In addition to his educational experience, Mr. Carnahan has been involved in the healthcare industry. He has served on the Board of Directors of a community hospital, Oregon Health Plan and Oregon Dental Services Companies, which is the second largest health insurance company in Oregon. He has been also an active volunteer for a number of other nonprofit organizations.
