Dan Nevez has over twenty years of professional experience, with nearly a decade in nonprofit search. Dan is a search generalist who has managed assignments covering a broad range of top leadership. He has worked for clients on national searches for CEOs, CFOs, COOs, and CDOs in a range of sectors. Prior to joining Campbell & Company, Dan served as Principal and Owner of his own recruiting firm, which focused on placing for-profit and nonprofit leaders. For five years, he served at a national executive search and consulting firm based in Chicago. As Research Head and later an Executive Recruiter, his work concentrated on leadership in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. He has led and supported recruiting efforts for more than seventy searches, principally in the nonprofit sector. Dan has advanced an “inclusion model” for the recruitment and retention of leaders from broad communities, and published an article on its effectiveness with philanthropic organizations.
Before joining executive search, Dan worked as a PhD-level researcher, instructor and museum curator at the internationally recognized Oriental Institute Museum. He has given lectures at major research conferences and published several articles on socio-economic and organizational history. As a search leader, he is a frequent speaker on nonprofit leadership, career management and building diverse leadership teams.
Dan holds a Master of Arts from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oklahoma, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is an active leader with Soka Gakkai International, a worldwide cultural and educational organization.
